We’re really excited to share some good news with the drone community.
Over the next week, Hawarden Aerodrome will be launching Airspace Manager – Version 2, a brand-new set of drone approval tools designed to make operating in and around our airspace simpler, faster, and more transparent for pilots.
What’s changing?
Airspace Manager V2 has been built with pilots in mind.
With the new system, pilots will be able to:
- Submit flight requests more easily using a streamlined approval process
- Plan and map flights on real, interactive maps, not static diagrams
- Track permit status in real time through our new Pilot Cockpit
- Receive decisions faster, helping you plan with confidence
The goal is simple: better integration of drones into our airspace, without unnecessary friction for responsible operators.
Introducing the Pilot Cockpit ✈️
One of the biggest upgrades in Version 2 is the Pilot Cockpit.
This new dashboard gives you a single place to:
- View all your submitted requests
- See approval progress clearly
- Check current permit status at a glance
No more guessing, chasing emails, or wondering where things stand.
What happens next?
We’re putting the final touches on the system now and will be announcing the official “Go Live” date very shortly.
👉 Check back over the next few days for the launch announcement and full access details.
We’re genuinely excited about what this means for drone operations at Hawarden Aerodrome and look forward to working even more closely with the pilot community as we roll this out.
Safe flying,
The Hawarden Aerodrome Team
